Mary Drew, MEd, MS, LSWA, CRSW, Founder & CEO

Mary has over 35 years of social services experience including addiction and recovery, case management, international adoptions, in-home crisis therapy, municipal welfare administration, nonprofit management, and homelessness. Mary has been in recovery from alcoholism since 2008 and credits her personal and professional success to her sobriety. She served as the 2009-2011 NH Prevention Fellow for the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration’s Center For Substance Abuse Prevention, assigned to the NH Bureau of Drug & Alcohol Services, and was an Internationally Certified Prevention Specialist for 13 years.  In 2009, Mary founded Reality Check, a New Hampshire nonprofit providing drug and alcohol addiction services to school districts and communities throughout the southern Monadnock Region. Mary holds an MS in Community & Counseling Psychology, and an MEd in Counseling Education Studies. She is a MA Licensed Social Worker and a NH Licensed Certified Recovery Support Worker. She is a federal proposal reviewer for SAMHSA and a trainer for its Substance Abuse Prevention Training Skills and its Prevention Ethics. She is a trainer for the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy, and the Prevention Research Institute’s Prime For Life alcohol & drug course. Mary invites people to consider how living more authentically will reap long-term behavioral, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits.

Cheryle Pacapelli, CRSW, Director of Training & Education, CRSW Supervisor

Cheryle Pacapelli has been in long-term recovery from alcohol and other drugs for over 37 years. She served as the Project Director for Peer Recovery Support Services at Harbor Care in Nashua, NH, where she oversaw the development and maintenance of 20 Recovery Community Centers throughout New Hampshire. In 2023 she led efforts reaching over 100,000 individuals battling substance use disorder. Before joining Harbor Care, Cheryle worked in Connecticut as a Program Manager for Recovery Housing, Director of Operations, and was the Director of Recovery Services at the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) from 2004 to 2012. While at CCAR Cheryle managed 3 Recovery Community Centers, a Telephone Recovery Support Program, Recovery Housing, Recovery Coach Training Programs, volunteer services, and coordinated Recovery Walks. She is the founder of Stepping Stone House, a transitional living home for reintegrating men in recovery into society from treatment or incarceration. Cheryle is a co-developer and trainer for both the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and the Art & Science of Peer Assisted Recovery including Recovery Coaching, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Co-Occuring SUD & Mental Health, and Motivational Interviewing. She is also a Prime For Life trainer and a facilitator of the Parenting Journey program for parents. Cheryle has dedicated herself to providing recovery support for anyone wanting it since 2001.
